Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actor and producer who has been recognized for her stellar performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the film Piano. In her early years, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. In her early years, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th year production. As a result of having mumps, she went deaf in one of the sides of her ears. But, it was not enough to stop her desire to become an actor. As a young woman she studied drama in college before moving from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to pursue her ambitions. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land films to play. A supporting role was found for her in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in a variety of television series and movies throughout a span of over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
