Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her film Piano won her an Oscar. She began her career acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth class play. In the fifth grade, due to mumps, she lost hearing in her left ear. She did not let that stop her. While in college, she took classes in theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. Her first role in film came following her move from Los Angeles. She has since appeared in numerous movies, television shows as well as movies throughout the span of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
